Whenever I am designing my lessons I make sure to align my lessons and objectives with the state and national standards. In this lesson I taught about the fundamental skills of badminton and would progress students being able to use various strikes, strategies, and how to be a good teammate and encourage one another. We went from these skills and began to work to being able to play in singles gameplay, doubles gameplay, and even a game of badminton golf.

In this lesson I taught students a sport that is not taught very often and is called scurry hockey. It is different than regular hockey in the way that the sticks are used and a few other rules. We started and progressed from being able to use the sticks safely to traveling with the ring and being able to shoot the ring. Along the way we also learned various rules of gameplay. We eventually got into gameplay where one team would face another team. Lastly some of the older elementary school students were able to play games of four square scurry hockey. This was hectic, but with a few modifications it made the game so much fun for them. None of this would have been possible if we did not do the proper safety and skill work beforehand.

In this activity students had a little competition while learning different muscles of the body. Students had to touch various muscles of the body after I taught them where they were and then I had them perform exercises that would use those muscles. All students got visuals, verbal, and tactile ways to learn what some of the bigger muscles in the body are. This allowed all students to learn in their own way and grasp the concepts I was teaching while getting their heart rates up.

I had students who had muscular dystrophy, down syndrome, and other disabilities that impaired their ability to shoot a basketball into a basketball hoop. To help with this I had a lower hoop that would attach to a regular sized hoop that allowed them to shoot it into an actual basket. They loved it and it really gave them a sense of being apart of the games and joining in with their peers. The other students would also help them and include them so they had that felling of belongingness and really put a smile on their face, as well as my own.

The use of Plickers can help me implement learning experiences through technology. It allows me to ask my students questions about skills, tactics, strategies, etc. Not only this, but I can use it to help gauge student learning by using these as a summative assessment tool at the end of a unit or a formative assessment to see if they are meeting my objectives for the day. I have used these to assess competency with cues and to check for understanding with how they felt with the skills and strategies of lacrosse. The picture is of a Plicker set that I made myself with a template I found online.

Hearttech Plus is a great to analyze students and help gauge student activity and performance. Students would set goals to improve from week to week as well as plan activities that will help them reach those goals. Students would see how long they were in each heart rate zone and they would understand if they needed to be more active or which activities increased their heartrate more. This also wouldn't be a day to day, or week to week thing, students could also see it on the projector if their heartrates were up during the activity or not and self check if they needed to get moving more.
