I always try to display that I care to students through not only my words, but my actions. Being a tall man in a room full of elementary students that are half my height, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't ever belittling them and saw them eye to eye figuratively and metaphorically. Whenever I would try to encourage a student, cheer them up, or would correct their behavior I would always squat down and have the conversation at their level. Not just because it would save their necks, but because it would help convey that sense of respect.

Anytime I would introduce something new I would always make sure to demonstrate what that looks like, while giving the instructions. With various learning styles and being in a very physical setting it is way easier for students to see what to do and they will be more likely to follow it. Plus it is a great way to show off to the kids and impress them with my juggling skills.

Sometime things do not go the way I planned them or directions are not followed. In this setting it was a team throwing and catching game that one team kept winning and I was curious to see why so I payed attention to this one group. In this group they were very spread out and were not very supportive of one another so students got stressed to throw and catch. I made these adjustments and addressed the situation and then this group was able to win the very next round.

Start and stop signals played a vital role in the success of my elementary school classes. I would always make sure to use the music to start the students and when I wanted them to stop I would have stop the music and yell freeze, which they would then put their hands on their knees and put their eyes on me. This made sure I had their attention and that they were listening. This was just one of many routines I would implement in my classes.

Through the use of Hudl Technique I have been able to use video analysis to assess students skill. I am able to use a variety of tools to help analyze what the student did correctly and what they need to improve upon. Not only this, but I have done voice overs on the specific video as I edit it so the student knows exactly what to look for.
